How can Australian small-medium businesses become Net Zero certified?

Some of Australia’s best-known brands have achieved Climate Active certification for their products, services, events and business operations. At this free webinar, attendees will find out how to make your business ‘net-zero certified’ with Climate Active, the Australian Government’s carbon-neutral certification agency. They’ll also hear about businesses that have successfully become net-zero certified.

The hour-long, livestreamed event features is one of a series leading up to the Business Decarbonisation Pathways – Working toward Net Zero SMART Supply Chain project, to be delivered by the Entrepreneurs’ Programme and launching in Perth on 21 September 2021.

Webinar agenda

The webinar is designed to give attendees:

  • an overview of the federal government’s Climate Active initiative;
  • key information about the Climate Active certification process; and
  • useful insights from the net-zero certification business case studies they learn about during the session.

The event will include a presentation from the Director of Climate Active Daniel Sheedy, then a discussion and Q&A with Sheedy and Ian Smale of Pangolin Associates. It will be moderated by Kate Brooks.

Speakers

Speakers include:

  • Daniel Sheedy, a Director at Climate Active, the Australian Government’s carbon-neutral certification initiative. Climate Active certifies businesses and organisations proven to be effectively measuring, reducing and offsetting their emissions – that is, achieving a net result of zero emissions.
  • Iain Smale, founder and Managing Director of Pangolin Associates, an energy and carbon management consultancy that works with SMEs, corporates and government entities nationwide to help them lessen their environmental impacts, increase efficiencies and achieve carbon-neutrality. Smale is a specialist in carbon neutrality and Climate Active certification. He has 25-plus years’ experience in developing and delivering business solutions in technology, systems integration and environmental regulations.
  • Kate Brooks, an Entrepreneurs’ Programme Growth Facilitator with the Australian Industry Group (AiGroup). Brooks works with small and medium-sized businesses to help them identify growth opportunities. She loves connecting interesting people to start conversations that generate new ideas.

The Entrepreneurs’ Programme

The Entrepreneurs’ Programme, an initiative of the federal government’s Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER), provides quality advice and support to help businesses innovate and grow. The Programme is delivered in partnership with AiGroup.
