Global Table 2020

Cancelled

Billed as the largest agri-food event in the Asia-Pacific, the annual Global Table in Melbourne is a collaborative, industry-led summit and expo focused on the ‘most critical challenges and exciting business solutions of the future’ in these sectors.

The 2020 Global Table in Melbourne this September will bring together national and international organisations and thought leaders in agri-food and related ecosystems ‘to drive conversations, innovations and solutions to improve the future of our food systems’, claim the organisers. It will further help to position the Asia-Pacific as a hub for food and agribusiness, creating new business and investment opportunities for the region.

The Summit program includes conference sessions, in-depth workshops, pitch sessions and ‘fireside chats’ with global leaders, as well as site visits to centres of excellence. A Global Table highlight, Seeds&Chips – The Global Food Innovation Summit, will also take place in 2020.

At the Innovation Precinct, new technologies and novel product development will be displayed and demonstrated. In the Trade Zone, export-ready Australian food and beverage products will be showcased to potential international buyers.

Among the stellar lineup of speakers at last year’s inaugural event were 68th US Secretary Of State John F Kerry, Dr Howard-Yana Shapiro from Mars Corporation and New-Zealand-based Sunfed Foods CEO Shama Sukul Lee. The event registered 3,037 delegates from 1,535 companies, including 50 start-ups in the Innovation Precinct, and spawned 1,344 confirmed business meetings.

One of Australia’s largest agriculture and food industry events, Global Table is organised by Food & Wine Victoria with event partners Seeds & Chips – The Global Food Innovation Summit and Fine Food Australia.
