Challenge Sustainable vegetable production in diverse environments like Australia and Qatar face constraints related to climate, water use efficiency, and nutrient management. Conventional fertigation practices may not optimise both yield and crop quality under varying regional conditions.
Solution This PhD project focuses on identifying novel fertigation, nutrient delivery, and crop management strategies tailored to vegetable production systems in both countries. The research explores how innovative approaches can enhance nutrient uptake and plant health, improving both productivity and produce quality.
Impact The outcomes will provide evidence-based recommendations for more efficient, high-yield vegetable farming practices across different climates. These advances will support food security goals while improving sustainability in intensive horticulture.
