Future Food Systems
Greater sustainability and improved nutrition through smart technology and supply chain logistics
The objective of this project is to develop and deploy new products that increase the yield and therefore profitability of annual and perennial Australian horticultural crops. The products will be developed by analysing the microbiomes associated with the life cycle of the crop, from seed to harvest.
In a Hort Innovation-backed project part-funded by the CRC, Murdoch University scientists are exploring the specific combinations of microbes required to cut chemical use and boost yields in some of Australia’s most valuable fruit and veg crops.
