This project is helping industry partner P’Petual automate the laborious task of pollination within its protected cropping greenhouses by developing a prototype of an autonomous robotic platform that can integrate with the firm’s proprietary pollination system. The project team is working on creating and demonstrating navigation algorithms that enable the robotic platform to perform crop row enter and exit behaviours. The team will also design an end-effector for integrating the industry partner pollination apparatus. The project will conclude with a final report presenting the design details and field trial results and including future research and development recommendations.
