Dr Hoon Han is Professor of City Planning Program in the School of Built Environment, the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. Prior to joining UNSW in January 2011, he held teaching and researching positions at Griffith University (2009-2011) and the University of Queensland (2004-2009), where he completed his PhD program (2004). His research focuses on smart cities, residential mobility and property markets using a range of quantitative methods such as spatial modelling, machine learning and multivariate analysis.

An integrated computational and collaborative approach for city resilience planning

The proposed project aims to visualise future freight demands for agricultural commodities in kilotonnes originating from the Namoi region. This visualisation will rely on the actual projections made by Transport for NSW at the SA3-level and their downscaled estimations at the LGA level. The downscaling process will utilise a linear proportional estimation based on the available total production data for such commodities from ABS/DPI.

Progress toward sustainable floor space mix: The future CBD workplace in Sydney

Urban planning has extended its vision from horizontal to vertical to volumetric. This complex social and economic environment implicates 3D floor use change. We aim to establish an analytical model framework applying the principles of Volumetric Urbanism to assist the development of smart and sustainable urban floor space mixed use strategy.

The project will deliver an industry database that geographically maps grain, beef, lamb and poultry businesses in the region along with the agri-commodities they produce, and a multi-criteria decision support tool to guide selection of locations for animal protein agribusiness development.

It's official: NSW Minister for Better Regulation and Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has announced that the Namoi region will be the state’s fourth Regional Jobs Precinct. The CRC will work with the Namoi Joint Organisation, NSW Government, UNSW and UNE to help plan the new precinct.
