Natalie is a PhD student at UNSW. Her FFS project explores the carbonation of Mg-rich brines into high-purity hydrated magnesium carbonate materials which can be used as sustainable building materials. Natalie is a part of the Particles and Catalysis Research Group at UNSW and is supervised by Assoc. Prof. Jason Scott and Scientia Prof. Rose Amal. Her research is also supported by EcoMag, an Australian company which produces high-quality magnesium products from desalination brines. “I’m excited to work on a project that has so many real-world applications.”
