Coffs Harbour, renowned for its amazing coastal scenery and vibrant agrifood sector, is set to host the eagerly anticipated third summit, For Food’s Sake in February 2025. The event, organised by Future Food Systems (FFS), will play an important role in promoting key technologies, innovations, partnerships and trends shaping Australia’s food systems along with highlighting the region's commitment to quality and community-centred economic growth through its celebrated local producers, farmers, restaurateurs, brewers, artisans, and manufacturers.
FFS CEO, Dr James Krahe, expressed enthusiasm for bringing the event to Coffs Harbour, stating, "We (FFS) have been active within Coffs' agrifood ecosystem over the past couple of years through initiatives associated with the Coffs Agrifood Living Lab (CALL). The CALL project has provided an opportunity to meet with growers, manufacturers and distributors, to hear their stories, and to see the amazing work currently taking place in the region. For Food’s Sake will provide the platform for these businesses to take that step further by connecting with like-minded individuals from across Australia to share and develop new ideas.”
Dr Krahe added, “Through our encounters with stakeholders, we have discovered their passion for collaboration to unlock new opportunities for the industry and the community. FFS is committed to harnessing this potential and turning it into a shining example of how collaboration evolves, flourishes and results in positive outcomes.”
Set against the stunning backdrop of the mid-north coast, For Food’s Sake provides a vital platform for agrifood stakeholders to forge dynamic partnerships and explore new opportunities with fellow businesses, leading researchers and government representatives. The event's theme will focus on the importance of collaboration, sparking discussions on pivotal topics such as circular economy, policy and planning, value-adding, waste valorisation, sustainability, automation, food security and other critical aspects to propel Australia's agrifood sector forward and strengthen local economies.
Held over two days at Pacific Bay Resort, For Food’s Sake will commence on 27 February and conclude on the afternoon of 28 February. The event will feature a welcoming function, panel discussions, keynote speeches, and the popular Gala Dinner. A new addition to next year's program is an exhibition where sponsors and local businesses can showcase their products and services.
Event registrations are now open, with exclusive sponsorship opportunities also available for organisations keen to play a key role in shaping the future of food.
