Increasingly, the world’s food and fibre production is occurring within global networks that may span several countries. Already part of these worldwide chains, Australian agriculture is benefiting through export and employment growth.

While global value chains offer new opportunities, in agriculture and the sectors that support it, there are also risks – such as those highlighted in recent trade disruptions and stymied multilateral trade negotiations, the report’s authors contend.
