Robots on the rise in greenhouse horticulture

Recent research by AgriDirect shows that the use of robots among Dutch greenhouse growers is up 3% since 2018, with 11% of 1,400 respondents deploying robots for cultivation in 2019.

Spraying robots are the most popular, deployed by nearly a quarter (24.7%) of the growers surveyed. More than one in five (22.2%) use robots for planting and harvesting; 11.7% use them to help in packaging; and 3.7% get robots to do their stacking.
