A team at the University of Illinois has developed the first high-resolution map of the US food supply chain, a comprehensive snapshot of all food flows between US counties built on information from eight big databases that details everything from which parts of the country grow the most food (thanks, California!) to where the big food hubs are and which American ports export what. It’s also been released as a publicly available database.
