COVID-19 impacts food industry Down Under

According to the latest report from FoodNavigator Asia, widespread community shutdowns and border closures in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic have impacted the food industries in Australia and New Zealand. In both nations, the industry’s biggest concerns are export continuity and food safety.

Fears about food safety during the COVID-19 pandemic have necessitated proclamations from the various food production sectors attempting to allay community anxiety around safety in both Australia and NZ.

Meanwhile, our food exports are being impacted by national lockdowns and border closures, cancelled passenger flights, disrupted supply chains and decreases in import demand from some of our key trading partners.
